Hi friend! Welcome to this week’s hobby search update. I am officially in the season of life where all of my friends are getting married. Lately my attempts at learning new hobbies have been replaced with bachelorette party and bridal shower planning. Turns out this can be a whole hobby in itself!
I recently planned a bachelorette party and wanted to make fun gift bags for the bridal party to take home. Considering this took weeks of planning and pricing to scout the materials, I’m thinking I can help anyone out who may be working on this as their own hobby. Read below for your own bachelorette party gift bag inspiration!!
- Personalized Burlap Totes – I love to use my Cricut to make custom gifts, so I knew a custom gift bag for each bridesmaid (and the bride) was a must. Each bridesmaid got a bag with their name on it and the bride’s was customized with her soon-to-be last name for a *nice touch*.
- If you are interested in customizing your own totes, see my tutorial for customizing burlap here. I got a pack of 6 blank burlap totes from Paper Mart for about $20. And if DIY isn’t your thing – Here is an Etsy listing of very similar looking bags.
- Eye masks – No matter the vibes of the party, I swear everyone loves a good face or eye mask these days. The girls loved these and used them before doing their makeup during the weekend. My favorite masks are by Loops and by Shiseido, so the Weekly Reset Rejuvenating Eye Mask Set by Loops was perfect since it came in a pack of 5. I got this set from Ulta for $25.
- Prosecco – To subtly get the party started, miniature bottles of prosecco fit perfectly in everyone’s bags. Lamarca Prosecco mini bottles are sold at Target (at least in my state) for $6 a piece and were the perfect size for the bags.
- Straws – I loved adding the cutest curly straws to the gift bags (this is what we called them as a kid, do people still call them that??). I found a pack of bachelorette themed straws from Amazon that included 7 ring shaped straws and 1 “Bride” straw. These made great photo props and were only $15 for the pack!
- Cups – A lot of bachelorette inspiration on Pinterest shows custom cups in favor bags. I found these to get a little pricey, and I didn’t want to go overboard on customizing everyone’s names on the favors. I thought these cups for only $15 on Amazon were just as cute and they still had special version for the bride, so they got the job done!
- Temporary Tattoos – Potentially my favorite part of the gift bags were temporary tattoos of the groom’s face from Etsy! This was the ultimate surprise factor of the gift bags, and these got a lot of use throughout the weekend.
- Soaps – Since all of the gifts in the favor bags were to be used during the weekend, I did want to add an element that everyone could use after the party was over. I’d gotten Finchberry soaps as gifts before and I thought they were the perfect “luxurious” item for everyone to take home – they smell fab and are so cute with different colors and sparkles. I got a Sampler Box for $25 and also snagged some paper Finchberry sleeves while inside the store to put the soap in. Some reviews complain that these samples are too thin, but they were perfect for this purpose. If you’d like full size bars these can get a little pricey (averaging $10 per bar of soap on the Finchberry site).
I also purchased shredded paper filler to stuff the bags for $14 off of Amazon and then put everything together before the big weekend. If you want to add an something extra to make the bride’s bag stand out, I also ordered a veil-like hair bow from Amazon and clipped it onto a handle of the bag. I knew that the bride would not be into wearing an actual veil for the bachelorette weekend, but this was something she would still find cute and make her stand out.
If you’re interested in a total cost breakdown see below. Note that I did make a total of 6 bags including one for myself. Since the eye masks came in a pack of 5 I did exclude an eye mask from my own bag since I have plenty eye masks at home already.
Cost Breakdown
- Cups – $15
- Eye masks – $25
- Mini champagne – $36
- Tattoos – $14 with shipping
- Bags – $20
- Bag filler – $14

I hope this was helpful and gets you a head start on all of your bachelorette planning! 🙂
