Hi friend! Last week I updated you on my latest hobby – all things bachelorette party planning. I am officially in the season of life where it seems like all of my friends are getting married. It’s an exciting (and busy) time! So busy.. that participating in all of the wedding activities has turned into my latest hobby.
This week I’m here to tell you all of the party supplies you cannot forget for that bachelorette party you’ve been planning (or will inevitably be planning one day)!!
Decorations
First up is decorations! Obviously you’ll want to decorate your hotel or Airbnb to make the best first impression for your guests. I knew I wanted to go all out with a big balloon arch and oversized streamers for the perfect photo backdrop.
- Balloon Arch – I’d never made a balloon arch before and *tbh* it was a bit intimidating when I searched tutorials online. I found this balloon arch kit from Target for $16 and it could not have been easier. I also got an extra pack of rose gold balloons to include in the arch to make it more full. When it comes time to set up, keep in mind that it still took about an hour and a half for me to figure out as a first time user. I can also say with certainty that using an electric balloon pump will make the assembly of the balloon arch as fast and pain free as possible.
Tip – I attached the balloon arch to the ceiling and wall of our Airbnb. Make sure to utilize command hooks and fishing line to attach to the ceiling. Painter’s tape stuck to the backside of the balloons will also help secure the arch to the wall.
- Giant Streamers Backdrop – I saw the cutest idea for a giant streamer backdrop on pinterest from ohhappyday.com and fell in love. It added so much more depth and uniqueness vs the plain backdrop that came with the balloon arch kit.
To make the backdrop, I ordered 6 rolls of crepe paper from papermart.com in 90 Gsm for a thicker, sturdier material. For a more “bridal” theme, I ordered the paper in white and floral white to keep things neutral. I did cut the rolls in half, so 6 rolls actually meant I had 12 streamers overall.
Tip – Oh Happy Day’s instructions (linked above) were very helpful. The only tips I’d add are how to actually attach the paper to the ceiling. With the help of my very tall dad (thanks, dad!), we attached two command strip hooks to the ceiling. Make sure to attach the hooks as far apart as the desired width of the backdrop. We then tied each end of a piece of fishing line to the hooks – like a clothesline. To hang the streamers, we draped them over the top of the line until one end reached the floor. It is important to not tie the line too tight or it will snap, and also just as important to not have too loose of a line or it will droop.
Photo Supplies & Props
I suppose that photo props fall into the category of party decorations, but these ideas were such a hit at the party that they’re worth calling out.
- Disposable Cameras – Everyone loves an old fashioned disposable camera. I got a couple cameras for the girls to take pictures throughout the entire weekend.
- Shaped Foil Balloons – Shaped balloons are great to add a little variety and *spice* to the decor. I bought a diamond ring shaped foil balloon from Target to add variety as a photo prop.
- Groom-on-a-Stick – The easiest DIY of the entire party was the groom-on-a-stick. I printed out a picture of the groom’s face on computer paper and cut it out with scissors. Using a glue stick, I glued the computer paper cutout onto one piece of poster board paper and cut off the excess paper. I then glued an oversized wooden crafts stick to the back of it. To make the cutout even more durable and to secure the stick, I glued another piece of posterboard paper to the backside and cut off the excess.
- Temporary Tattoos – I included temporary tattoos of the groom’s face in the gift bags I created for the bridal party. They were a HIT. I know that creating a full gift bag for every bridesmaid can get a little pricey, so if you opt to not create the same gift bags, make sure you at least get these temporary tattoos! I found them off of Etsy for about $10.

Last week I wrote about how I made gift bags for the bridal party. I won’t go into detail again on the party favors, but I highly recommend making these for an extra special touch! Visit the link here for all the details on the cutest bachelorette party gift bags.
